Este sábado, bajo una copiosa lluvia, la atleta paralímpica venezolana Lisbeli Vera logró una nueva medalla de oro en los 200 metros planos, categoría T47, en los Juegos Paralímpicos de Tokio 2020. La atleta oriunda de Tucaní, estado Mérida, detuvo el reloj en 24,52 segundos y consiguió su segundo metal dorado en la cita universal. Es la tercera medalla para Lisbeli, la segunda dorada y la séptima medalla para el país.

El podio lo completaron la estadounidense Brittni Mason (25,00 segundos) y la polaca Alicja Jeromin (25,05 segundos).

Lisbeli registró la mejor marca del año en la prueba y quedó a solo cuatro centésimas del récord mundial y paralímpico. Además, se convierte en la primera criolla que ve acción en una cita paralímpica y gana tres metales, incluyendo una de plata.

A solo un día para que baje el telón de los Juegos Paralímpicos y Venezuela sella su mejor participación en este certamen, con siete metales: tres doradas, dos de plata y dos de bronce.
